Kontakt.io has launched Access Agent, an AI-powered tool designed for health systems to optimise assignment of rooms for outpatient clinics.
This enables health systems to expand patient capacity without building new spaces.

Access Agent utilises real-time location data and connects with electronic medical records (EMR) to predict when rooms will be available and estimate the length of patient visits.
The system is designed to minimise idle periods, boost room usage, and highlight areas for operational enhancement. This allows clinics to expand patient access, support revenue growth, and improve the overall patient journey.
It includes AI-driven detection of room occupancy, assigns rooms dynamically according to patient arrivals and staff availability, and utilises staff badges and heat-mapping sensors for a tagless workflow.
It integrates with electronic health records (EHR), forecasts visit durations using historical data, and tracks room use. Patients are notified of any delays and updated about changes to their appointment times.

By GlobalDataSeveral US hospitals have started piloting Access Agent. Early feedback indicates that the agent assigns patients to exam rooms only when providers are ready, which helps minimise waiting times and makes appointment schedules more predictable.
Hospital chief operating officers (COOs) report increased use of rooms and expect a rise in follow-up appointments as well as improvements in patient satisfaction indicators.
Kontakt.io CEO and founder Philipp von Gilsa said: “At scale, Access Agent gives health systems a truly accurate picture of their ambulatory capacity by bringing together historical patterns and RTLS actuals into one real-time map.
“It lifts room utilisation through dynamic rooming, typically from about 30% to nearly 50%, and then uses that new reality to optimise templates and eliminate avoidable waits. System-wide, that means organisations can grow visits and providers without adding new space, increasing revenue while saving hundreds of millions in new construction.”
In July 2025, Kontakt.io expanded its Staff Safe workplace violence prevention solution, offering full outdoor coverage to ensure hospital staff safety across entire campuses.
