US-based private health care operator Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) has completed the purchase of The Colorado Health Foundation’s 40% ownership of the HCA-HealthONE Joint Venture for $1.45bn.
The HCA-HealthONE JV includes seven hospitals and 13 ambulatory surgery centres in the city of Denver.

HCA is also planning to purchase full ownership of HealthONE, which includes the Medical Center of Aurora and Centennial Medical Plaza, North Suburban Medical Cente, Presbyterian / St. Luke’s Medical Center and Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children, Rose Medical Center, Sky Ridge Medical Center, Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital, Swedish Medical Center and Swedish Southwest emergency room.
