Hamad General Hospital in Qatar has opened several new patient care units to increase its bed capacity and provide quality care for patients.

The hospital, owned by Hamad Medical, opened a new emergency acute care unit, a 26-bed medical / surgical unit, a 14-bed discharge lounge and a 12-bed intravenous therapy unit, which can provide care to a minimum of 60 patients per day.

The emergency acute care unit will have 16 beds in common rooms and four in private rooms.

Hamad General Hospital executive director Colene Daniel said that the new patient care units will ensure a comfortable, safe and healing environment and promote quality care for the patients.

The newly opened units are part of Hamad Medical’s initiative to renovate and enhance its existing hospitals, and provide improved healthcare to patients.
