Technology-enabled revenue cycle management (RCM) services provider Omega Healthcare is set to enhance its AI capabilities by expanding its collaboration with Microsoft.

The integration of Microsoft Azure AI models with Omega Healthcare’s Omega Digital Platform (ODP) has led to the launch of more than 20 generative and agentic AI solutions, designed to improve the financial performance of healthcare organisations.

Since the inception of its partnership in 2023, Omega Healthcare has rapidly implemented these AI solutions within the ODP framework.

These solutions are designed to automate intricate workflows, including appeal filing, denial management, correspondence processing and call centre support.

The automation aims to increase compliance, accuracy and profitability for healthcare organisations.

Omega Healthcare CEO and co-founder Anurag Mehta said: “We are bringing scalable, tech-enabled services without requiring healthcare leaders to take on large, risky technology investments, freeing them up to focus on what matters most – delivering exceptional patient care.”

The AI solutions integrate intelligent automation capabilities from Microsoft Azure throughout the ODP, supporting the entire revenue cycle.

These include mid-cycle operations, patient access and back-end processes.

By combining advanced AI models with Omega Healthcare’s expertise, routine processes encompassing medical coding are automated, and services like clinical documentation improvement, denials management, and prevention are enhanced.

Furthermore, Omega Healthcare has introduced additional solutions for payers, presenting new opportunities for automated retrospective HCC [hierarchical condition category] coding.

The company has also implemented solutions for data curation in the life sciences sector.

Microsoft Worldwide Healthcare general manager Elena Bonfiglioli said: “Omega Healthcare is one of the most innovative partners we’ve worked with in applying Microsoft Azure AI Foundry capabilities – including Azure OpenAI in Foundry Models – to revenue cycle management and other real-world healthcare challenges.

“Their ability to translate AI innovation into practical, high-impact solutions across the entire revenue cycle and beyond has positioned them as a clear leader in tech-enabled RCM transformation.”
