The implemented hellocare.ai devices include voice-enabled technology and high-resolution cameras. These tools facilitate AI-powered virtual nursing, virtual sitting, and telehealth services.
In addition, the rooms are equipped with interactive digital whiteboards and smart room signs, all fully integrated and synchronised with the Epic healthcare software system.
Reid Health chief digital and information officer Muhammad Siddiqui said: “With hellocare.ai, we’ve not only been able to consolidate multiple services and technologies into a single, integrated platform, but also introduce new capabilities that were previously unavailable to our care teams.
“This has transformed the way we deliver virtual care, streamlining workflows, enhancing staff efficiency, and creating a more connected experience for patients and clinicians alike.”

By GlobalDataBetween June and October last year, the implementation of this technology demonstrated significant clinician engagement, with more than 5,800 writebacks to Epic and more than 14,000 badge accesses to the whiteboards.
The approach extends beyond patient care into education, with hellocare.ai technology being integrated into the IVY Tech Simulation Lab. The lab enables nursing students to gain hands-on experience with the same tools found in actual patient rooms.
hellocare.ai founder and CEO Labinot Bytyqi said: “Reid Health’s bold vision and commitment to innovation make them an ideal partner.
“Together, we’ve created one of the most advanced smart hospital room models in the country, fully digital, virtual first, and patient centric.”
In August of the previous year, Reid Health further advanced its technological capabilities by entering an enterprise-wide agreement with Abridge, a provider of generative AI technology for clinical documentation.
