By GlobalDataThe establishment of the South Central Iowa Radiation Center aims to improve cancer care accessibility for the people of Marion County, Florida and nearby areas, minimising the necessity for long-distance travel to receive treatment.
This joint venture represents a partnership between two hospitals in the region, focusing on addressing the increasing demand for cancer services.
Knoxville Hospital & Clinic CEO Kevin Kincaid said: “Time is a valued commodity that we all cherish, and everyone deserves access to the health care they need.
“We are proud to be a part of this affiliation because it represents two great health care organisations coming together to address the growing need for cancer services. We want to give our patients peace of mind knowing they will receive the very best care they need to fight their cancer close to home.”
The construction of the South Central Iowa Radiation Center is projected to cost $14m.
Funding for the project will partly be sourced through a capital campaign led by the foundations of both hospitals.
