The new two millionft2 healthcare facility will be a patient-centred campus of care with focus on sustainability, resiliency and keeping patients healthy within their own community.

It will feature a new emergency department, a critical care unit, a maternal newborn unit and birthing suits, as well as a multilevel, 1,170-space parking structure.

Stantec vice president Darren Burns said: “There’s never been a more important time to expand the healthcare capacity in Canada and we are proud to add this new welcoming and supportive space to the Vancouver landscape.

“The design supports an enhanced patient experience while creating a timeless space that embraces the history of this long-respected institution.”
