US-based Stryker has launched Synchfix EVT, a flexible syndesmotic fixation device intended to simplify surgical procedures and support ankle stabilisation in patients with syndesmotic disruptions.
The launch marks an expansion of Stryker’s solutions for foot and ankle surgeons treating injuries commonly resulting from sports trauma and ankle fractures, with a focus on options for both adult and adolescent patients.

The Synchfix EVT builds on the previous Synchfix platform and introduces design improvements to minimise procedural complexity compared to prior devices.
The device integrates suture tensioning handles within implant instrumentation, featuring an ergonomic, single-handed handle design and a low-profile titanium medial implant.
The all-in-one system aims to provide a streamlined user experience for surgeons during implantation. It is indicated for bone fixation and soft tissue in cases of ankle syndesmosis disruptions, with or without associated fractures.
It can also be used as an adjunct in managing ankle fractures such as Weber B, Weber C, and Maisonneuve types in adult and adolescent populations.
