Sunoh.ai has announced its integration with athenahealth Marketplace programme, bringing its AI medical scribe solution to athenahealth’s network of healthcare providers.
This collaboration aims to accelerate clinical documentation by transforming real patient-provider dialogue into accurate and comprehensive clinical notes within seconds.

The integration is now available to athenahealth’s network, which includes more than 160,000 providers using the athenaOne platform.
Sunoh.ai is already used by over 90,000 providers in the US and is aimed at improving patient-provider interactions and helping reduce physician burnout by streamlining documentation processes.
Claimed to function either as an independent app or be integrated with an electronic health record (EHR) system, Sunoh.ai is designed to transcribe natural language conversations between healthcare providers and patients into structured clinical documentation.

Esperanza Health Centers (EHC), a federally qualified health centre (FQHC) in Chicago, has reported significant improvements since adopting Sunoh.ai.
EHC operates seven locations and provides bilingual primary care, behavioural health, and wellness services to a diverse patient population.
The AI medical scribe’s multilingual support, including recognition of various Spanish dialects and accents, has helped improve documentation quality at EHC.
EHC delivers care to more than 500,000 patients annually, regardless of immigration status, insurance status, or ability to pay.
EHC information technology vice-president Nish Shivnani said: “For our top three participating providers, Sunoh.ai reduced documentation time by two minutes per encounter, a reduction of approximately 11%. Additionally, same-day encounter closure rates increased by 22%.
“This technology has significantly reduced our providers’ post-visit documentation time, enabling them to close encounters quickly and conveniently on the same day.”
The athenahealth Marketplace is claimed to be among the largest healthcare app stores, offering over 500 integrated solutions across more than 60 medical specialities.
Nearly 75% of athenahealth customers use Marketplace partner solutions to enhance practice efficiency and engage patients in their care.
The athenahealth Marketplace enables seamless integration with third-party applications, services, and systems, supporting providers and administrators in improving practice outcomes and financial performance.
In December 2024, the Indiana University Student Health Center in Indiana, US, began using Sunoh.ai’s AI-powered ambient listening solution to streamline its clinical documentation processes.
