The deployment seeks to improve productivity, strengthen collaboration between locations, and help manage rising imaging volumes to reduce radiology burnout while maintaining quality patient care.

Xcare Group operates 12 sites throughout the Saarland and Trier/Wittlich regions, offering radiation therapy, radiology, and nuclear medicine services, and performing around 200,000 radiology examinations annually.

Xcare Group managing partner Dr Florian Jungmann said: “To ensure high-quality care for our patients, it is essential that we equip our radiologists and radiation therapists with solutions optimised for efficient and interdisciplinary workflows.

“With the Sectra solution, we will now use a unified platform for radiology and radiation therapy. This improves information flow, strengthens collaboration across our sites, and boosts productivity. The scalability of the solution also gives us confidence that it will continue to meet our needs in the future.”

Sectra DACH senior sales manager Tim Klomfass said: “Xcare is taking important steps to address one of the most pressing challenges in radiology today—burnout among radiologists.

“By streamlining workflows and reducing unnecessary complexity, they are creating the conditions for more sustainable diagnostic work. This not only supports the well-being of their radiologists but ultimately leads to better care for patients.”

Sectra’s radiology module is part of its enterprise imaging solution designed to provide a unified imaging strategy while lowering operational costs.

The modular, scalable platform, built around a vendor-neutral archive, enables healthcare providers to expand across imaging disciplines and organisations.

In August 2025, Sectra announced the implementation of its cloud-based enterprise imaging solution, Sectra One Cloud, across six member hospitals of Canadian ENHANCE Ontario, with the aim of consolidating imaging across 13 hospital sites.
