AdventHealth Pepin Heart Institute has announced the opening of its fourth Electrophysiology (EP) Lab, marking an expansion in its cardiac care capabilities.

Additionally, the expansion will allow for advanced heart rhythm disorders treatment.

The new facility is equipped with a Steris Cleansuite operating ceiling system, which enhances air quality and safety of patients.

The lab's space integrates the features of a catheterisation lab with a surgical suite, allowing for a variety of procedures ranging from minimally invasive to complex surgeries.

The investment in advanced technology and a skilled team enables the institute to enhance the quality of life for patients across the Tampa Bay region.

AdventHealth Tampa cardiac electrophysiologist Kenneth Yamamura said: "This expansion underscores our dedication to meeting the evolving needs of the Tampa Bay community.

The new EP Cath Lab allows for shorter hospital stays along with faster recovery times and enhanced patient outcomes.

AdventHealth Pepin Heart Institute offers advances procedures such as Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) and the Watchman Procedure, ensuring patients have access to the latest advances in medicine.

Earlier this month, AdventHealth Winter Park opened a new patient-centred facility dedicated to providing oncology services.

In January 2025, the Freytag Cancer Center at AdventHealth Palm Coast began serving the residents of Flagler County, Florida.

The two-storey, 30,000ft² centre is designed by HuntonBrady and constructed by Robins & Morton.
