Comanche County Memorial Hospital (CCMH) in the US has selected the cloud-based platform MEDITECH Expanse, replacing five to seven legacy systems with one electronic health record (EHR) platform.
This move aims to improve care coordination and patient engagement across the community.
Comanche County Memorial Hospital CEO Brent Smith said: “This is a long-term investment in our hospital’s infrastructure, as well as in the health and wellness of our community.

Clinicians previously faced challenges accessing complete patient information due to incompatible systems.
CCMH chief medical officer Dr Scott Michener said: “This created significant challenges for physicians, who were unable to access critical patient information, such as notes from a specialist or primary care provider, leading to inefficiencies and potential gaps in continuity of care.
“This partnership directly addresses these challenges, providing a seamless flow of information for all points of care.”
MEDITECH Expanse is designed to consolidate CCMH’s hospital and clinic data into a singular patient record.
The platform facilitates the real-time exchange of information across all care environments, thereby minimising redundant testing and promoting secure clinical decision-making.
Its interoperability tools seamlessly incorporate patient data from diverse sources into clinicians’ workflows, enhancing safety.
A patient portal that is user-friendly, and mobile apps give individuals 24/7 access to test results, instructions on discharge, medications along with visit summaries. Population health tools help care teams identify and manage patients at high risk, proactively.
Clinicians benefit from intuitive navigation, automation, and mobile access, including AI-driven insights for timely interventions.
Implementation of the platform began with configuration and workflow development, with hospital teams collaborating with MEDITECH to align the system with clinical needs.
