Fisk Electric Company, a subsidiary of Tutor Perini, has secured the second phase of an electrical contract valued at around $99m for the new Harris Health hospital on the Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital campus in Houston, Texas, US.

Fisk Electric's role, for the construction of the new hospital tower and podium, encompasses the core and shell, as well as tenant finish-out electrical and fire alarm components.

The initial phase commenced in the fourth quarter of 2024, while the second phase work started in March 2025. The entire electrical contract is expected to reach substantial completion by the fourth quarter of 2028.

The forthcoming 14-storey Harris Health hospital is set to become the third Level I trauma centre in Harris County.

Spanning approximately 1.3 million square feet, the facility will house 390 private rooms and has the capacity to expand by an additional 60 rooms if needed.

Designed to accommodate a wide spectrum of medical services, the hospital will feature a rooftop helipad, 15 operating rooms, and a hybrid operating room.

The services range from standard procedures to intricate emergency surgeries.

The funding for the second phase was recorded in the company's backlog in the first quarter of 2025, with an expected additional $38m for the final phase to be included later in the year.

In May 2023, Fisk Electric Company secured an electrical subcontract valued around $41m for the new Gloria Drummond Patient Tower at the Boca Raton Regional Hospital.

The subcontract was awarded by Robins & Morton, which is serving as the general contractor for the new tower.
