Hospitex, a subsidiary of Aliko Scientific, has won a contract to provide IT and networking systems for hospitals in Adwa, Ethiopia.

This contract, which is valued at around €300k ($310.86k), is a component of a larger UNOPS-funded project.

Hospitex serves as the prime contractor and system integrator and will lead a consortium of suppliers.

They will work together to implement IT infrastructure that supports hospital connectivity and the provision of digital healthcare services.

The contract represents an “achievement” for the newly formed Hospitex Digital division, which focuses on healthcare digital transformation.

With a focus on AI-driven diagnostics, telemedicine, and digital pathology, Hospitex Digital aims to close healthcare accessibility gaps, improve diagnostic precision, and optimise medical workflows.

The division comprises experts in computer science, medical imaging, and network solutions, working to develop integrated systems for the needs of contemporary hospitals and clinics.

Hospitex Digital BU manager Matteo Botteghi said: “Being selected by a prestigious global organisation like UNOPS for this project underscores Hospitex’s growth capacity, reliability and strong industry positioning.

“This contract is a significant step forward for Hospitex Digital, showcasing our ability to deliver high-impact solutions for healthcare digitalisation.”

The initiative is set to improve networking capabilities within hospitals, enabling effective patient data management, remote diagnostics, and improved communication among healthcare professionals.

Hospitex, incorporating IT solutions, focuses on elevating healthcare accessibility and quality in the region and establishing a “benchmark” for future digital healthcare projects.

The company stated that it anticipates further expansion in the field of healthcare digitalisation and will continue to foster “innovation and excellence” in medical technology.
