US-based Memorial Hermann Health System has partnered with KabaFusion to offer its home infusion therapy services for individuals with chronic conditions.

This collaboration also aims to provide the services for those requiring intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) treatment with enhanced access to home-based care.

Home infusion therapy is an option for individuals who require intravenous medication at home and eliminates the need to travel to hospitals.

While Memorial Hermann offers short-term home infusion therapy at present, the agreement with KabaFusion will extend support to patients needing longer-term treatment plans.

Memorial Hermann pharmacy services vice-president Binita Patel said: “We are always looking for new ways to advance the patient experience and improve health care for our patients.

“This is the first time we have worked with a home infusion platform, and we believe working with KabaFusion will allow patients to receive personalised, compassionate care without having to leave the comfort of their homes.”

KabaFusion specialises in providing infusion pharmacy services along with nursing support at home across various therapies.

These therapies are prescribed by physicians in fields such as cardiology, dermatology, immunology, neurology, oncology, and pain management.

KabaFusion founder and CEO Dr Sohail Masood said: “We are excited to partner with Memorial Hermann in providing high-quality, in-home care to the patients that need it most.

“Every step KabaFusion takes in providing patient-focused care to new markets and greater segments of the population is a step towards an increased number of positive clinical and patient outcomes.”

Recently, Memorial Hermann launched a new surgery programme for cardiology, enhancing its care services in this area.
