Cambridge Memorial Hospital to implement Oracle Health’s EHR

The adoption of the EHR will enable CMH to scale its services and explore AI-powered innovations.

Cambridge Memorial Hospital (CMH) in Ontario, Canada, is set to enhance its digital transformation by implementing Oracle Health's Foundation electronic health record (EHR) system.

This strategic move aims to improve clinical decision-making, elevate patient experiences, and enable better care coordination among healthcare teams.

The new system will consolidate health information into a single, integrated platform, offering clinicians a comprehensive view of each patient's health journey.

CMH president and chief executive officer Patrick Gaskin said, “This new EHR reflects who we are becoming as a hospital, connected, responsive, and ready for what’s next. It’s an investment in our teams, our patients, and the future of health care in our region.”

In a strategic move to enhance collaboration, CMH will join the Waterloo Regional Health Network's (WRHN) existing EHR ecosystem. This partnership is anticipated to ease patient record sharing, streamline implementation, and ensure seamless care transitions between facilities.

The adoption of the EHR will enable CMH to scale its services and explore AI-powered innovations as the community grows.

Oracle Health vice-president and Canada market leader Erin O’Halloran said, “We’re honoured to team with CMH on their journey to modernise clinical and operational systems.

“By equipping care teams with streamlined tools and secure access to vital patient data, we’re helping drive greater efficiencies, reducing staff burnout, and elevating the overall experience for both clinicians and patients.”

CMH serves the communities of Cambridge, the township of North Dumfries, and the region of Waterloo, with a team comprising over 1,600 health professionals and staff, 250 physicians, and nearly 500 volunteers. The hospital offers surgery, maternity, laboratory, diagnostics, and emergency care services.
