PAM Health, in partnership with Baptist Health Care, has announced a plan to develop a new 40-bed physical medicine and rehabilitation hospital.

The facility will be situated on the third and fourth floors of Catalyst HRE’s Henderson Health Center, located on the Baptist Hospital campus in Pensacola, Florida, US.

Catalyst HRE Development vice-president Brandon McFarren said: “Catalyst is proud to support this partnership between PAM Health and Baptist Health Care by providing a state-of-the-art space within the Henderson Health Center.

“The addition of PAM Health's services aligns with our mission to enhance access to high-quality care. We look forward to seeing its positive impact on the Pensacola community and beyond.”

This rehabilitation hospital will be PAM Health's ninth in the US state and is expected to create around 80 new jobs.

The new hospital, which will encompass 40,000ft², is scheduled to begin construction in May 2025 and is expected to open in the second or third quarter of 2026.

PAM Health founder, chairman, and CEO Anthony Misitano said: “Together, we are looking forward to providing high-quality, comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation care to the residents of northwest Florida and south Alabama.

“With millions of people in this region, access to top-tier rehabilitation services is essential for optimising recovery after an injury, surgery or illness.”

PAM Health will entirely lease and operate the new hospital and accept referrals from all hospitals in the region.

The facility will offer inpatient rehabilitation services, including physical, occupational, and speech therapy.

It will serve patients recovering from debilitating illnesses and injuries, such as traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, strokes, and other neurological disorders, cardiac conditions, amputations, and orthopaedic and post-surgical conditions.

Baptist Health Care president and CEO Mark Faulkner said: “Our collaboration with PAM Health will continue to elevate access and continuity of care for patients. We are excited to further realise the vision of our main campus by providing these additional inpatient rehabilitation services, creating new jobs and advancing our mission.”
