US-based care automation software provider Qventus has launched Perioperative Care Coordination (PCC), a solution designed to mitigate the administrative workload for clinicians.

The solution is also intended to improve pre-admission testing staff production, reduce surgery cancellations, and optimise patient management both before and after surgical procedures.

It offers a suite of AI assistants that assist pre-admission testing nurses with tasks such as patient record tracking, coordination of patient phone calls, chart mining and risk stratification.

Qventus founder and CEO Mudit Garg said: “Qventus’ Perioperative Care Coordination solution furthers our vision of alleviating the administrative burden from providers to deliver highly reliable care for patients.

“By reducing surgery cancellations, enabling nurses to operate top of license, and optimising more patients pre and post-surgery with our solution, health systems can secure the margins to support their mission of delivering quality care to patients in their communities.”

Key features of the PCC solution include AI assistants that support various workflow tasks, continuous risk determination using AI and machine learning, and intelligent document management for handling patient records.

The platform also facilitates patient optimisation by identifying and coordinating care opportunities.

It was built in collaboration with several healthcare systems, including Allina Health, HonorHealth, Northwestern Medicine, and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

HonorHealth Pre-admission Testing network director Lisa Burgin said: “Working through our patient lists isn’t just about efficiency–it’s about connecting with the human behind the chart.

“With Qventus, our nurses essentially have an entire administrative team that can automate work to double, even triple our efficiency, reduce surgery cancellations, and prepare patients for the best possible outcomes.”

Other solutions offered by Qventus include the Inpatient Capacity Solution and the Surgical Growth Solution.

The company recently raised $105m in a Series D funding round led by KKR, marking the first step in its broader vision for its AI operational assistants platform.
