US-based not-for-profit health system Sentara Health has begun using Andor Health’s AI-powered ThinkAndor platform in an effort to expand its range of virtual care services.

ThinkAndor focuses on five key pillars of virtual health, namely virtual hospital, patient monitoring, AI agents for digital front door, care team collaboration and transitions in care.

Sentara said the integration of these services into a unified virtual command centre will allow it to streamline its operations and improve patient outcomes.

Sentara previously implemented the ThinkAndor Virtual Nursing solution in 1,700 of its rooms, with 85% of the group's nurses saying the virtual feature had made their job easier.

Sentara Health Clinical Support Services vice-president Jaime Carroll said: “Since launching the virtual nursing programme, we’ve provided over 1,360 hours of virtual care to our patients, which in turn allowed the bedside nurses an additional 1,360 hours to focus on what matters most - direct, face-to-face patient care.

“Although we are early in our implementation, this increased patient-focused time has garnered positive comments from our patients, elevated the quality of care, improved documentation, and enhanced discharge planning, ultimately driving better outcomes for patients.”

Andor Health chief medical officer Joshua Briscoe said: “We are proud to lead the industry with ThinkAndor. ThinkAndor delivers real, measurable return on investment and empowers care teams by optimising operational efficiency.

“With proven results, we are driving meaningful transformation in healthcare. This achievement reflects our unwavering commitment to innovation and excellence in patient care.”

Andor Health aims to provide actionable insights and ambient monitoring to healthcare providers, allowing them to deliver care at scale while creating returns on investment.

In October 2023, non-profit healthcare provider Orlando Health began using the ThinkAndor Virtual Nursing Module with the aim to expand its inpatient virtual care capabilities.
