Clinical intelligence company Surgical Safety Technologies (SST) has introduced two mobile applications for surgeon interactions.
The Room State and Explorer applications focus on the interactions with surgical video content and operating room (OR) data.
They are designed to streamline surgical team workflows and improve educational resources for surgeons.
Both apps are powered by SST's Black Box Platform.

Room State enhances surgical interaction by introducing an AI-driven notification system that automatically updates the electronic health record (EHR) and informs medical staff of critical events.
This app provides real-time updates, predictive insights on case durations, and anonymised live visuals of the OR to surgeons' mobile devices.
Surgeons benefit from a comprehensive daily dashboard that offers full visibility of the schedule and immediate updates on case progress, ensuring time management and reducing unnecessary OR admissions.
Explorer, on the other hand, serves as a mobile-accessible video library that enhances surgical education.
It allows for AI-assisted video analysis, facilitating performance feedback in a structured manner and supporting quality improvement and clinical research.
Surgeons can review cases in detail, create video clips of significant surgical moments, and collaborate with peers using the app's sharing tools.
These applications jointly form an integrated ecosystem that shifts surgical departments towards proactive, data-informed operations.
By leveraging the AI capabilities of Black Box Platform, Room State and Explorer provide accurate forecasts and insights to medical professionals.
