US-based Texas Hospital Association (THA) has named CENTEGIX as an industry partner for advancing the safety of healthcare workers.

This partnership emphasises THA's focus on enhancing the safety of its 400,000 healthcare workers across Texas.

The workforce can now implement CENTEGIX's CrisisAlert solution, a wearable staff duress badge to discreetly call for assistance and expedite response times.

THA represents over 85% of acute-care hospitals and healthcare systems in Texas and has acknowledged the escalating incidents of violence against healthcare workers.

Texas Hospital Association Health Technology Innovation vice-president Alex Huff said: “Our knowledge of the Texas healthcare marketplace allows us to save our hospitals valuable time vetting vendors and facilitate introductions with best-in-class vendors that can meet their needs.”

More than 600,000 duress badges are already in use at over 14,000 locations in the country.

The CENTEGIX Safety Platform integrates the CrisisAlert cloud-based technology, digital mapping, and automated reporting, alongside visitor management systems, to improve organisational safety.

CENTEGIX Healthcare Safety senior vice-president Andrea Greco said: “We are reducing response times and improving outcomes in the healthcare facilities we support, and look forward to bringing the Safety Platform and CrisisAlert to even more facilities to protect both staff and patients.”

CrisisAlert’s features include wearable duress buttons for all staff, precise location identification, and total campus coverage that functions both indoors and outdoors.

Most importantly, the alert capabilities operate independently of Wi-Fi or cellular networks, which can be unreliable in certain healthcare environments.

CENTEGIX has designed CrisisAlert without a real-time location system to encourage adoption among healthcare workers.

The system only tracks employees' locations when an alert is activated, thereby respecting their privacy.

Founded in 1930, the Texas Hospital Association serves as an advocate for the state's healthcare systems and hospitals.
