Post-acute care provider Vibra Healthcare is set to relocate its Central Dakotas hospital from Mandan, North Dakota, US, to a new facility in Bismarck.

Vibra Hospital of the Central Dakotas, currently operating on the second and third floors of a shared healthcare building in Mandan, will be moving to a standalone facility in Bismarck.

This move is expected to offer a modern setting for the hospital's existing services and allow for the introduction of an inpatient medical rehabilitation programme.

Under development by Development Solutions & Facilities, the new facility will house 20 long-term acute care hospital (LATCH) beds from Mandan and 30 inpatient medical rehabilitation beds.

It will offer a continuous care pathway for patients recovering from serious health issues, surgeries, or chronic conditions, offering critical care and acute rehabilitation under a single space.

Vibra Healthcare chairman and CEO Brad Hollinger said: "This new hospital reflects that commitment by bringing both long-term acute care and medical rehabilitation services together in a single, state-of-the-art facility.

The Bismarck hospital is expected to be completed within the next year, offering private patient rooms, therapy gyms, and a specialised clinical area tailored for medically complex patients.

The transition to the new facility is intended to maintain care continuity and broaden the hospital's capacity to treat more patients.

The relocation to Bismarck is anticipated to create additional employment opportunities in the region.
