US-based Mount Sinai Health System has expanded its Mount Sinai Brooklyn Ambulatory Infusion Center to provide advanced cancer services to southern Brooklyn residents.
With a $4.1m investment, the centre has been expanded to now have 15 infusion chairs, seven exam rooms, and a mammography suite, facilitating medical oncology, chemotherapy, and various treatments.

It is staffed by specialists to treat breast, gastrointestinal, gynaecological, lung, and thoracic cancers, as well as multiple myeloma.
Furthermore, Mount Sinai Brooklyn has added a $2.8m high-tech MRI scanner to the facility. This scanner leverages artificial intelligence for quality imaging.
The scanner’s larger tube is claimed to ensure comfort for patients of all sizes, including those with claustrophobia.
The expansion provides patients with access to advanced treatments and clinical trials.
