The expansion allows PENTAX Medical to market, distribute and support the integrated AI solution throughout these regions, bringing MAGENTIQ-COLO to a wider network of healthcare providers.

This agreement will see MAGENTIQ-COLO, MAGENTIQ EYE’s AI system designed for colonoscopy, integrated into PENTAX Medical’s INSPIRA EPK-i8020c and IMAGINA EPK-i5500c video processors.

Both platforms are used for a range of endoscopic procedures.

The integration aims to provide physicians with access to AI-powered, real-time polyp detection, additional diagnostic assistance, procedural quality support, and workflow tools intended to support consistent care in clinical practice.

According to PENTAX Medical, the combined system is positioned to support endoscopists by offering clinically validated AI functionalities alongside their existing imaging technologies.

MAGENTIQ-COLO’s clinical performance was evaluated in a large multicentre randomised trial published in the Lancet Digital Health.

The study reported a 26% relative increase in adenoma detection rate and a 48% relative reduction in adenoma miss rate compared with standard colonoscopy.

PENTAX Medical global president Dominique Vincent said: “At PENTAX Medical, we are committed to advancing flexible reusable endoscopy through continued investment, innovation and strong clinical partnerships.

“Expanding our collaboration with MAGENTIQ EYE brings clinically validated AI capabilities to more physicians worldwide and further reinforces our commitment to supporting endoscopists with solutions they can rely on every day, helping drive confidence, consistency and high-quality care throughout everyday clinical practice.”

MAGENTIQ EYE founder and CEO Dror Zur said: “Expanding our collaboration with PENTAX Medical is an important step in our global growth strategy. By bringing together trusted endoscopy platforms and clinically validated AI, we are helping more physicians deliver consistently high-quality colonoscopy.”

PENTAX Medical develops, manufactures and services flexible, reusable endoscopic equipment supplied globally.

In August 2024, PENTAX Medical secured approval from the US Food and Drug Administration for its DEC Duodenoscope (ED34-i10T2s) compatibility with Advanced Sterilization Products’ STERRAD 100NX steriliser.
