The global healthcare industry experienced a 13% rise in new job postings related to cloud in Q3 2022 compared with the previous quarter, according to GlobalData’s whitepaper on Cloud in Healthcare – Hiring Activity in Q3 2022. This compares to a 21% increase versus Q3 2021.

Notably, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers jobs accounted for a 34% share of the global healthcare industry’s cloud -related total new job postings in Q3 2022, down 14% over the prior quarter.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers drive cloud -related hiring activity

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers, with a share of 34%, emerged as the top cloud -related job roles within the healthcare industry in Q3 2022, with new job postings drop by 14% quarter-on-quarter. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in second with a share of 6% in Q3 2022, with new job postings rise by 19% over the previous quarter.

The other prominent cloud roles include Computer and Information Analysts with a 4% share in Q3 2022, Computer and Information Systems Managers with a 3% share of new job postings.

Top five companies in healthcare industry accounted for 7% of hiring activity

The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q3 2022 were Accenture, Cognizant Technology Solutions, International Business Machines and NTT DATA. Together they accounted for a combined share of 7% of all cloud -related active jobs in the healthcare industry.

Accenture posted 10,931 jobs in Q3 2022 and registered a rise of 38% over the previous quarter, followed by Cognizant Technology Solutions with 3,536 jobs and a 65% growth. International Business Machines with 3,396 jobs and NTT DATA with 1,342 jobs, recorded a 62% decline and a 1% decrease, respectively, while UnitedHealth Group recorded a 17% decline with 1,131 job postings during Q3 2022.

Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 47% share of total active job postings, Q3 2022

The largest share of cloud -related new job postings in the healthcare industry in Q3 2022 was in the US with 47% followed by India (29%) and Canada (3%). The share represented by the US was two percentage points higher than the 45% share it accounted for in Q2 2022.
