Healthcare Practitioners and Technical Occupations drive internet of things-related hiring activity

Healthcare Practitioners and Technical Occupations, with a share of 25%, emerged as the top internet of things-related job roles within the healthcare industry in Q2 2023, with new job postings drop by 16% quarter-on-quarter. Healthcare Support Occupations came in second with a share of 12% in Q2 2023, with new job postings dropping by 13% over the previous quarter.

The other prominent internet of things roles include Computer and Mathematical Occupations with an 11% share in Q2 2023, Management Occupations with a 6% share of new job postings.

Top five companies in healthcare industry accounted for 73% of hiring activity

The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q2 2023 were Ochsner Health System, ConnectedHealth, Cisco Systems, International Business Machines, and Accenture. Together they accounted for a combined share of 73% of all internet of things-related new jobs in the healthcare industry.

Ochsner Health System posted 2,166 internet of things-related new jobs in Q2 2023, ConnectedHealth 230 jobs, Cisco Systems 223 jobs, International Business Machines 125 jobs, and Accenture 93 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 74.29% share of total new job postings, Q2 2023

The largest share of internet of things-related new job postings in the healthcare industry in Q2 2023 was in the US with 74.29% followed by India (5.34%) and the UK (4.86%). The share represented by the US was three percentage points higher than the 71.71% share it accounted for in Q1 2023.
