The global healthcare industry experienced a 10% rise in new job postings related to robotics in Q3 2022 compared with the previous quarter, according to GlobalData’s whitepaper on Robotics in Healthcare – Hiring Activity in Q3 2022. This compares to a 3% increase versus Q3 2021.

Notably, Registered Nurses jobs accounted for a 13% share of the global healthcare industry’s robotics-related total new job postings in Q3 2022, up 65% over the prior quarter.

Registered Nurses drive robotics-related hiring activity

Registered Nurses, with a share of 13%, emerged as the top robotics-related job roles within the healthcare industry in Q3 2022, with new job postings rising by 65% quarter-on-quarter. Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers came in second with a share of 10% in Q3 2022, with new job postings drop by 34% over the previous quarter.

The other prominent robotics roles include Health Practitioner Support Technologists and Technicians with a 10% share in Q3 2022, Pharmacists with a 3% share of new job postings.

Top five companies in healthcare industry accounted for 52% of hiring activity

The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q3 2022 were NN Group, Medtronic, Accenture and Cognizant Technology Solutions. Together they accounted for a combined share of 52% of all robotics-related active jobs in the healthcare industry.

NN Group posted 320 jobs in Q3 2022 and registered a drop of 11% over the previous quarter, followed by Medtronic with 303 jobs and a % growth. Accenture with 282 jobs and Cognizant Technology Solutions with 170 jobs, recorded a 24% decline and a 227% increase, respectively, while SCL Health System recorded a 10% increase with 116 job postings during Q3 2022.

Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 61% share of total active job postings, Q3 2022

The largest share of robotics-related new job postings in the healthcare industry in Q3 2022 was in the US with 61% followed by The Netherlands (10%) and India (9%). The share represented by the US was ten percentage points higher than the 51% share it accounted for in Q2 2022.
