Healthcare Practitioners and Technical Occupations, with a share of 42%, emerged as the top smart hospitals-related job roles within the healthcare industry in Q1 2023, with new job postings drop by 14% quarter-on-quarter. Healthcare Support Occupations came in second with a share of 7% in Q1 2023, with new job postings rising by 27% over the previous quarter.

The other prominent smart hospitals roles include Management Occupations with a 6% share in Q1 2023, Office and Administrative Support Occupations with a 6% share of new job postings.

Top five companies in healthcare industry accounted for 26% of hiring activity

The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q1 2023 were Methodist Health System, Your World Healthcare, LHC Group, Iora Health, and Banner Health. Together they accounted for a combined share of 26% of all smart hospitals-related new jobs in the healthcare industry.

Methodist Health System posted 1,290 smart hospitals-related new jobs in Q1 2023, Your World Healthcare 1,164 jobs, LHC Group 592 jobs, Iora Health 474 jobs, and Banner Health 436 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

Hiring activity was driven by the US with an 84.00% share of total new job postings, Q1 2023

The largest share of smart hospitals-related new job postings in the healthcare industry in Q1 2023 was in the US with 84.00% followed by the UK (7.31%) and Australia (2.16%). The share represented by the US was 0 percentage points lower than the 84.50% share it accounted for in Q4 2022.
