The global healthcare industry experienced an 18% rise in new job postings related to social responsibility in Q3 2022 compared with the previous quarter, according to GlobalData’s whitepaper on Social Responsibility in Healthcare – Hiring Activity in Q3 2022. This compares to an 146% increase versus Q3 2021.

Notably, Registered Nurses jobs accounted for an 8% share of the global healthcare industry’s social responsibility-related total new job postings in Q3 2022, up 9% over the prior quarter.

Registered Nurses drive social responsibility-related hiring activity

Registered Nurses, with a share of 8%, emerged as the top social responsibility-related job roles within the healthcare industry in Q3 2022, with new job postings rising by 9% quarter-on-quarter. Miscellaneous Healthcare Support Occupations came in second with a share of 3% in Q3 2022, with new job postings drop by 18% over the previous quarter.

The other prominent social responsibility roles include General and Operations Managers with a 3% share in Q3 2022, Nursing Assistants, Orderlies, and Psychiatric Aides with a 3% share of new job postings.

Top five companies in healthcare industry accounted for 81% of hiring activity

The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q3 2022 were Houston Methodist Hospital, Oracle, Octapharma Plasma and UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center. Together they accounted for a combined share of 81% of all social responsibility-related active jobs in the healthcare industry.

Houston Methodist Hospital posted 3,632 jobs in Q3 2022 and registered a drop of 6% over the previous quarter, followed by Oracle with 3,620 jobs and a 422% growth. Octapharma Plasma with 3,430 jobs and UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center with 2,736 jobs, recorded a 40% growth and a 10% increase, respectively, while Conduent recorded a 40% increase with 2,538 job postings during Q3 2022.

Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 78% share of total active job postings, Q3 2022

The largest share of social responsibility-related new job postings in the healthcare industry in Q3 2022 was in the US with 78% followed by the UK (6%) and Canada (4%). The share represented by the US was 0.39 percentage points higher than the 77% share it accounted for in Q2 2022.
