Cleveland Clinic and Select Medical have opened a rehabilitation hospital in Fairhill, US, marking the fourth facility established through their collaborative partnership.

The 32-bed Cleveland Clinic Rehabilitation Hospital consists of entirely private rooms and is situated on the first floor of Select Specialty Hospital at 11900 Fairhill Road in Cleveland.

It will deliver specialised rehabilitation services for patients recuperating from illnesses and complex injuries.

The facility will adopt a personalised approach to care, incorporating advanced technologies and rehabilitation nursing and therapies aimed at improving self-care abilities, mobility, and cognitive function.

A board-certified physiatrist will lead the multidisciplinary care team, which consists of pharmacists, therapists, rehabilitation nurses, case managers, speech pathologists, and other specialists as necessary.

The facility is set to begin patients’ admission later this month.

The new facility enhances the network of Cleveland Clinic Rehabilitation Hospitals in Northeast Ohio, which already includes locations in Edwin Shaw, Avon, and Beachwood in Bath Township.

The collaboration between Cleveland Clinic and Select Medical began in 2014, resulting in the opening of the first rehabilitation hospital in Avon in 2015.

As of June 2024, Select Medical operated 107 critical illness recovery hospitals across 29 states, 33 rehabilitation hospitals in 13 states, and 1,925 outpatient rehabilitation clinics in 39 states and the District of Columbia.

Earlier this year, Cleveland Clinic and Vietnam’s Vingroup announced a collaborative initiative to establish a new international general hospital.
