US-based Cleveland Clinic and Vietnam’s Vingroup have announced a collaborative initiative to establish a new international general hospital.
The new facility in Vietnam, to be named Vinmec Can Gio International General Hospital, will be developed based on the Cleveland Clinic model of care.
It will be designed from the ground up, incorporating advanced clinical centres, comprehensive specialties and advanced medical equipment.
This hospital will be part of the Vinmec Healthcare System, a non-profit network owned by Vingroup that currently operates nine hospitals and four clinics across Vietnam.
Vinmec Can Gio will be located within Vinhomes Green Paradise, a nearly 7,500-acre coastal township developed by Vingroup in Long Hoa Commune, Can Gio District, Ho Chi Minh City.
Groundbreaking for the new hospital is scheduled for August this year, the health system said in a release.

By GlobalDataCleveland Clinic International and Emerging Markets executive vice-president and president Tommaso Falcone said: “We are honoured to continue our collaboration with Vingroup to serve patients in the Vinhomes Green Paradise.
“Part of our mission is to bring Cleveland Clinic care to patients around the world. Through this collaboration, Cleveland Clinic will serve as a strategic advisor to Vinmec Healthcare System.”
As part of the collaboration, Vinmec Can Gio’s core medical and operational teams will have access to Cleveland Clinic’s advisory services, education programmes, and training.
Clinical staff will receive advanced training in clinical settings, while the hospital’s leadership will participate in observational and exchange programmes.
Patients of Vinmec Can Gio—both domestic and international—will benefit from the Cleveland Clinic’s clinical care practices.
In cases requiring further intervention, referrals to the Cleveland Clinic hospitals in the US will be possible.
In February 2025, the Cleveland Clinic announced a $500m fundraising campaign to expand its outpatient services and build a hospital in Palm Beach County, Florida.
