NexCore Group, in collaboration with Arizona Oncology, has broken ground on a new cancer treatment centre in Prescott, Arizona in the US.

The 22,105ft2   facility is expected to open in September next year-.

The Arizona Oncology Cancer Center will serve patients with convenient access to the latest cancer treatment services and technologies, once it becomes operational.

At present it is situated at 3188 N. Windsong Dr, and will shift upon the project’s completion.

It will provide main facilities including medical oncology, surgical oncology, breast cancer treatment and diagnostics, urology, radiation therapies (including HDR), diagnostic imaging (CT/PET, CT) laboratory diagnostics, genomic testing and oncology research.

Arizona Oncology medical oncologist Iyad Hamarneh said: “While we’ve outgrown our current facility, we look forward to growing with the Prescott community.

With outdoor garden space, Arizona Oncology will include a 34-chair infusion area.

The facility will also feature 15 total medical, gynaecologic and radiation oncology test rooms, and a PET-CT imaging room.

The design of the new building also includes the future capability to add up to two medical linear accelerators (LINAC) .

Medical Oncologists and Hematologists Dr Allan Espinoza, Dr Iyad Hamarneh, Dr Alan Langerak and Radiation Oncologist Dr Marshall Davis practicing in the existing building, will be transferred to new hospital.

New staff of lab specialists, pharmacists, nutritionists and other medical professionals will also be hired.

NexCore will handle the design and building activities to meet budget, quality, and plan objectives.
