US-based inpatient rehabilitative hospitals operator HealthSouth has completed the acquisition of Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
Terms of the deal, which was first announced in February 2015, were not disclosed.

Cardinal Hill facility includes 158 licensed inpatient rehabilitation beds and 74 licensed skilled nursing beds. The hospital is said to provide inpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing, outpatient rehabilitation and home health services.
Part of HealthSouth’s national network of 108 inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, Cardinal Hill is the third hospital for the group in Kentucky.
The other two hospitals in the region are HealthSouth Northern Kentucky Rehabilitation Hospital in Edgewood and HealthSouth Lakeview Rehabilitation Hospital in Elizabethtown.
HealthSouth provides post-acute services, including facility-based and home-based post-acute services in 33 states and Puerto Rico.
In January 2015, HealthSouth completed the acquisition of EHHI Holdings for $750m, which owns Encompass Home Health and Hospice. It operates in 140 locations across 13 states in the US.
