Capital Region Medical Center, a 114-bed community hospital in Missouri, has chosen Patientco’s cloud-based patient payment automation solution to streamline workflow and improve revenue cycle.

Patientco claims that with its patient payment solution, Capital Region Medical Center can facilitate an easier payment experience for patients, simplify patient billing and payment processes and optimise financial performance.

According to Patientco, with its patient-focused solution Capital Region Medical Center has been able to quickly implement an intuitive suite of cloud-based tools that have helped to boost staff motivation and enhance patient loyalty.

In addition, the hospital has now access to flexible payment options, easy-to-understand billing statements and secure patient engagement tools.

Through flexible payment options, patients will have the choice over when and how to pay their bills (for example, in cash, check or credit card via phone, mail or online).

Billing statements that are designed based on market research of patients’ reception to a medical bill use elements such as icons, clear layout, simplified language and colour psychology to ensure that patients have a clear understanding of their responsibility.

Access to a Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act compliant portal allows patients to easily manage, pay and securely communicate with their provider about healthcare costs, resolve issues, provide additional insurance information and set up payment plans.

"By working with Patientco, we have been able to increase payments at the point-of-service and bring a majority of our patient payment processes back in house."

Capital Region Medical Center revenue cycle director Debby Froebel noted that the industry is facing a lot of market shifts, one of which includes the increasingly high responsibility that patients are shouldering for their healthcare costs.

"By working with Patientco, we have been able to increase payments at the point-of-service and bring a majority of our patient payment processes back in house.

"Additionally, time saved on previously manual workflows allows our staff to spend more time engaging patients on the financial aspect of their care journey, ensuring they understand their healthcare expenses which improves the overall care experience," Froebel added.

Capital Region Medical Center, located in Jefferson City, offers prenatal and maternity services, emergency services, orthopaedic care, surgery, cardiovascular care and home health services.
