Canada-based health information technology firm Medworxx Solutions is set to deploy its patient flow solution Clinical Criteria in the Crouse Hospital, New York, US.
Located in Syracuse, the acute care provider includes more than 500 beds and serves central and northern New York.
Crouse Hospital care co-ordination services director Barbara Drapola said: "Medworxx will allow us to understand and act on patient flow barriers as they occur to enhance the timeliness of discharge and create viable solutions to eliminate identifiable causes of avoidable delays in hospital services."
Crouse selected the Clinical Criteria module to make necessary improvements in patient throughput to continue their delivery of better quality care and decided to invest in the module, after the delivery of Medworxx Patient Throughput Review.
Medworxx noted it will interface with the existing Siemens Soarian EHR to support clinical workflow. The company developed the Clinical Criteria module to provide advanced patient flow analytics in real-time.
These derived analytics can be shared across the organisation to help care co-ordinators, case managers and multi-disciplinary team to organise and prioritise patient flow across the facility.
The Clinical Criteria module will allow the hospital to identify clinical appropriateness of each patient’s level of care each day in real-time, allowing clinicians to provide the right level of care at the right time in an appropriate setting.
Medworxx sales senior vice-president Niels Tofting said: "It is gratifying to us that Crouse has invested in our patient flow platform to support their case management and care coordination programmes in order to improve patient throughput and flow."
Medworxx provides health information technology solutions for 400 hospitals worldwide, including Canada, the US, UK, France and Australia.
