SJH comprises 16 acute care hospitals, home health agencies, hospice care, outpatient services, skilled nursing facilities, community clinics and physician organisations in California, Texas and New Mexico.

"SJH is a truly innovative health system with leadership that embraces and invests in new ways to deliver its mission."

SJH president Deborah Proctor said: "Our value-based contracting and population management strategies require that we extend the sacred encounters we deliver beyond the four walls of our physical locations and into people’s everyday lives."

Datu’s Persuasion Engine is a set of rules, content and nudges, which will allow SJH to influence patient behaviour and advance their population health management objectives.

The platform will be used to tackle a growing flood of data, including clinical, patient reported and other types of data. It includes evidence-based behavioural science models that help to deliver personalised nudges and provides the ability to learn, over time, the most effective methods for impacting everyday behaviour.
