Princeton Community Hospital in West Virginia, US, has deployed the Tru-D’s SmartUVC room decontamination system, which helps to disinfect environmental surfaces in patient rooms and operating suites.

The system automatically measures reflected ultraviolet emissions and calculates the lethal UV dose required for each room, based on room size, shape and other variables.

The decontamination system us UVC, considered the safest ultraviolet light for people as it doesn’t penetrate through glass.

Princeton surgical services director Larry Perdue said that Tru-D technology "is an automated, remotely operated portable disinfection system that self-adjusts to the size and content dynamics of any room to deliver an ideal dose of cleansing germicidal ultraviolet light to the space".
