UAE healthcare provider Burjeel has inaugurated four new centres under its Alkalma mental health and well-being platform to broaden access to specialised mental healthcare.

This comes via the integration of Aspris Healthcare facilities.

These facilities are situated at Dubai’s City Walk, Dubai Healthcare City, Abu Dhabi’s Al Bateen, and Riyadh’s King Abdullah Financial District.

They offer a variety of therapeutic approaches tailored to individual needs through one-on-one sessions as well as group and family therapy.

The alignment with Alkalma's values ensures that each centre contributes to a larger ecosystem focused on prevention, availability, and overall health, stated Burjeel.

The four centres together offer an annual capacity for around 90,000 consultations.

Burjeel CEO John Sunil said: “Integrating these centres into our ecosystem marks a pivotal step in realising our vision for a regional mental health platform rooted in Alkalma’s values of clinical excellence and inclusivity. It enables us to expand access to high-quality care while accelerating the delivery of outcomes that matter to patients and health systems alike.”

The launch signifies the initial stage, which will be a multi-phase strategy aimed at expanding coverage within key urban markets while adopting Keralty's evidence-based care models.

By doing so, Alkalma aims not only to address growing demand but also achieve improvements in both healthcare outcomes and economic efficiency.

Alkalma was initiated as a joint venture between Burjeel Holdings and Keralty, a Colombian healthcare company pioneering value-based care internationally.

Looking ahead, there are plans for these centres to be fully incorporated into one cohesive brand identity, along with increasing their clinical capabilities.

Additionally, Alkalma will roll out digital platforms for reaching communities within this sector.

The joint venture is also exploring potential expansions into additional locales throughout the UAE and Saudi Arabia as part of its regional growth ambitions.

Alkalma CEO Emilio Herrera said: “At Alkalma, we believe a healthcare system is defined by how it supports those most in need. There is no health without mental health. Establishing our presence in the UAE and Saudi Arabia reflects our commitment to advancing national priorities and bringing the best scientific evidence, the highest quality of care, to serve the community. This is only the beginning.”
