Community Hospital Corporation (CHC) has announced plans to establish a $400m non-profit acute care hospital, named Heritage Regional Medical Center (HRMC), in Sherman, Texas, US.
Scheduled to open in early 2028, the facility aims to integrate advanced technology and patient care to serve the local community.
HRMC's first phase will feature 100 inpatient beds, with provisions for future growth, including the potential to add 200 additional beds.
The initial setup will also support the expansion of various departments, such as imaging, surgery, emergency, and outpatient services.
Upon opening, HRMC is expected to employ more than 400 individuals, with projections of over 1,000 staff members as the hospital expands.
The workforce will comprise a diverse team of technicians, physicians, pharmacists, and nurses.
The project is a collaborative effort involving CHC and key local stakeholders, including Grayson County and the City of Sherman, as well as several financial institutions, such as Simmons Bank, First United Bank, and First State Bank.
Two tribal nations, the WNJ Health Foundation, the Texoma Community Foundation, and Covenant Development, are also participating.
ADAMS Management Services will oversee construction while healthcare architectural company ESa is set to design the facility.
CHC president and CEO Jim Kendrick said: “Our mission is to serve Sherman and the surrounding communities with excellence and compassion, bringing high-quality, technologically advanced care to area patients.
“As part of this development, I am proud to announce Ron Seal as the incoming CEO for Heritage Regional Medical Center. We are excited to have Ron at the helm of this new organisation, aligning skilled medical staff and building a talented, compassionate employee base.”
The hospital is set to meet the healthcare needs of Sherman and Southern Oklahoma, and aims to promote sustainable, community-driven healthcare through partnerships with local investors and physicians.
Construction for the new hospital is set to commence in early 2026 within the Heritage Ranch Master Planned Community.
