Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) in Switzerland has treated its first patient using RaySearch Laboratories' RayStation treatment planning system.

The treatment was done in combination with the RayCare oncology information system and the Accuray CyberKnife treatment delivery system.

Conducted on a patient with brain metastasis, the treatment took place on 9 June.

CHUV has been a client of RaySearch since 2017, and in 2021, it expanded its relationship with the company by ordering additional RayStation functionality and investing in RayCare and RaySearch's oncology analytics tool, RayIntelligence.

Putting RayCare in clinical use with the CyberKnife system is part of CHUV's programme to optimise treatment and operational efficiency.

The phased move will eventually see RayCare used with all of CHUV's treatment delivery systems, allowing for comprehensive radiation oncology activities exclusively with the RaySearch system.

The collaboration aims to improve safety, security, as well as treatment quality at the hospital.
