Doctors Hospital and Baptist Health International have announced a collaboration to pursue Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation by 2025 and enhance healthcare quality in the Caribbean.
Baptist Health International is a division of Baptist Health South Florida.
The partnership, which has been in place for 12 years, will now focus on preparing Doctors Hospital for the JCI survey, a process that underscores the mutual commitment of the parties to enhancing healthcare standards in the Cayman Islands as well.
The collaboration will involve the transfer of knowledge, education, and quality initiatives aimed at achieving this accreditation.
Baptist Health International corporate vice-president Rogelio Ribas said: “We have worked closely with Doctors Hospital in its pursuit of excellence in healthcare and are pleased to embark on a new phase of this partnership, recognising the hospital’s pursuit of JCI accreditation as a testament to its ongoing commitment to delivering top-tier services to patients in the Cayman Islands.
“We are proud to support Doctors Hospital in this journey and look forward to continuing our collaboration to advance healthcare standards in the Caribbean region.”
The two-year preparation period will see Baptist Health International providing advisory services, assessments, training and readiness support to Doctors Hospital.
The hospital's staff will have the opportunity to participate in Baptist Health International’s Observership Program and also attend healthcare symposiums, participating both in-person in Miami and through virtual means.
