Drive Health has signed a contract with Banyan Medical Solutions to broaden the utilisation of an integrated AI co-pilot solution across acute care facilities in the US.

This collaboration combines Drive Health's automation platform, Avery, with Banyan's virtual nursing services to assist bedside teams in the face of nationwide nursing shortages.

The joint programme will integrate Avery into Banyan-supported hospitals, enabling automation of administrative and engagement tasks such as admissions, patient education, coordination with regard to discharge, and rounding.

By shifting these activities to AI-enabled systems, clinical teams will be able to prioritise patient care. Escalation and supervision protocols will remain in place to ensure patient care.

Banyan Medical Solutions CEO Tony Buda said: “Our mission at Banyan has always been to expand the reach of the clinical workforce without compromising care quality.

“Drive Health’s technology gives us a powerful new lever to relieve administrative burdens and enhance the bedside experience for patients.

“Following significant diligence, we’re thrilled to partner with Drive Health to lead this next phase of transformation in acute care.”

As the US anticipates a shortage of more than 200,000 nurses by the end of the decade, hospitals are progressively turning to remote and AI-enabled care solutions to streamline their operations.

This collaborative approach is anticipated to enhance staffing flexibility, financial performance across medical-surgical, intensive care, and emergency departments.

Under the agreement, Drive Health and Banyan intend to implement the solution across 2,000 hospital beds by the end of this year.

The initial rollouts are scheduled to commence at flagship locations in the third quarter, with expansion to additional systems in the fourth quarter. Furthermore, the two organisations will collaborate to develop customised workflows for inpatient settings.

In February 2025, Drive Health, in collaboration with Google Public Sector, introduced the AI-powered Nurse Avery to improve outcomes.
