Hanyang University Hospital in Guri, South Korea, has deployed HFR Mobile’s private 5G solution to improve critical care and safety at the hospital.

The solution includes a core network, a service management platform, centralised and distributed units (CU/DU) and a radio unit, making use of private 5G's ultra-fast and low-latency capabilities.

These capabilities support AI-powered CCTV systems in the real-time monitoring of waiting areas and emergency rooms for fall incidents and hazards.

This allows medical staff to be notified promptly, aiming to reduce response times and prevent further accidents.

The private 5G solution also facilitates a real-time infusion monitoring service that allows intravenous (IV) fluid flow rates and volumes to be tracked directly from patients' bedsides.

This enhances patient safety while streamlining clinicians' workloads and improving response times in emergencies.

HFR Mobile said that Hanyang University Hospital's use of this solution demonstrates private 5G's potential to transform healthcare operations by ensuring fast, secure and real-time data transmission while protecting sensitive medical information.
