The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation in the US has announced a partnership with Netsmart to streamline its documentation and operational processes.

Leveraging augmented intelligence, the collaboration aims to enhance the delivery of evidence-based care and improve interoperability across the organisation.

The foundation focuses on implementing solutions to support individuals dealing with substance use and mental health conditions, fostering a community of mutual learning and contribution.

Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation president and CEO Dr Joseph Lee said: “We selected a behavioural health technology provider whose associates understand our strategic direction and can accelerate collaboration with the broader behavioural health community.

“We hope this collaboration gives us the opportunity to deliver even more effective care while building resources to train the next generation of addiction treatment counsellors, clinicians and staff members.”

In search of an electronic health record (EHR) system, Hazelden Betty Ford chose Netsmart for its experience in addiction treatment and mental health services.

Netsmart CEO Mike Valentine said: “Today, Hazelden Betty Ford is achieving impressive outcomes for those they serve. They’ve earned a brand of quality in our industry, which is a testament to their innovation, patient-centred clinical excellence and values-based leadership.

“Through collaboration and investment in an integrated platform approach, together, we have an incredible opportunity to take their care delivery to an even higher level.”

The collaboration extends beyond digitising services and programmes, as Netsmart will also support the foundation's efforts in educating future behavioural health professionals through publishing initiatives and graduate school programmes.

Last December, Interim HealthCare agencies in Colorado Springs; Fort Collins; Pueblo; and Tucson, US, announced the adoption of Netsmart's myUnity, an integrated EHR system designed for post-acute care settings.
