Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust in London, UK, has announced a partnership with Novacare, a hospital under construction in Islamabad, Pakistan.

The alliance is set to enhance clinical standards, with affiliate fees from services provided by the UK Trust being reinvested into NHS services.

Anticipated for a 2026 launch, the facility will span 28 clinical specialities, encompassing oncology, cardiology, maternal health and neurology.

The hospital will incorporate modern infrastructure, featuring smart building systems, AI-enhanced vertical transportation, and advanced infection control measures.

The collaboration is designed to save lives by sharing clinical best practices and fostering staff development.

British High Commissioner Jane Marriott said: “This agreement is bringing the UK’s world-leading healthcare expertise to Pakistan, and in turn, supports the UK’s NHS. Through sharing the NHS’s cutting-edge clinical best practices, and through helping to develop staff, this agreement will directly help to save lives.”

Exporting NHS clinical standards and experience, the collaboration aims to reinforce the UK's global healthcare leadership.

It will provide Novacare clinicians with access to multidisciplinary team meetings, second opinions from UK specialists, and training in line with NHS protocols.

Additionally, intricate cases may be referred to Imperial's private facilities in London, potentially increasing revenue for healthcare institutions in the UK.

During a three-day visit to Pakistan, Marriott accompanied the UK Trade Envoy to Pakistan and UK Parliament Member Mohammad Yasin to tour the construction site of the Novacare Islamabad hospital.

Located in DHA Phase V, the hospital will be situated a 15-minute journey from Islamabad's Blue Zone upon completion.
