The US Department of State has awarded a new time and material (T&M) task order to KBR for delivering medical support services in Iraq.

This Medical Support Services Iraq (MedSSI), cost-reimbursable task order has a ceiling of $187m and is part of the Diplomatic Platform Support Services (DiPSS) contract.

The contract is set to run for five years, extending through 2029.

KBR, under the task order, will be responsible for operating a Diplomatic Support Hospital and four clinics to support more than 4,000 personnel at the US Mission in Iraq.

The services provided will include on-site urgent, primary and initial emergency care.

KBR's team, comprising nurse practitioners, physicians, physicians' assistants and support staff, will offer a range of general and speciality care services.

The care services will encompass orthopaedics, surgery, neurology, radiology, gynaecology, emergency medicine, critical care, mental health care and triage.

KBR Mission Technology Solutions president Byron Bright said: “KBR is proud to support the US diplomatic mission in Iraq.
