Healthcare organisations, Northwestern Medicine, and Providence are set to collaborate with Medline to develop the AI-powered supply chain solution, Mpower.
Medline's Mpower is built on Microsoft 365 and driven by Azure AI, aimed at reducing disruptions and enhancing patient care.
Medline's supply solutions senior vice-president Marc Phillips said: "Having forward-thinking providers join our AI supply chain collaboration with Microsoft is very powerful.
"These healthcare providers see the future of streamlined information and workflow through Mpower, greatly benefiting their patients, staff and communities.
“They are committed to creating a supply chain that is reliable and resilient, and they want a seamless solution that is simple for their teams to use.”
Last year, Medline announced its partnership with Microsoft to enhance supply chain optimisation and resilience through the creation of a new 'AI digital control tower' for product communications, substitutions, and approvals.
Built on Microsoft 365, the platform is designed to be accessible for all healthcare systems.
Microsoft's health and life sciences corporate vice-president Larry Jones said: "AI is transforming healthcare supply chain management by simplifying procurement and lightening the operational load.
"Mpower combines Microsoft 365 and Azure AI with Medline's resilient supply chain expertise to help ensure essential supplies are within reach, allowing caregivers to concentrate on what truly matters: their patients."
Medline extended an invitation to Northwestern Medicine and Providence to collaborate on the development of Mpower, leveraging their industry leadership and longstanding partnership with Medline.
Each organisation contributed expertise in supply chain, clinical, and technical leadership to propel the implementation and development of Mpower through their respective networks.
