US-based hospital care company LookDeep has introduced aimee, an AI agent designed to support patients and clinical teams in real time by combining vision, sound and language.
Unlike conventional hospital technology, which typically focuses on devices or relies on existing data, aimee is designed to observe the hospital environment directly.
Discover B2B Marketing That Performs
Combine business intelligence and editorial excellence to reach engaged professionals across 36 leading media platforms.
This AI agent works alongside doctors, nurses and patients and adapts to the pace of care.
It integrates with existing hospital systems, including electronic health records, nurse-call platforms and smart devices, and is intended to link with future AI systems that extend care to the home from the hospital.
aimee can detect and interpret in-room activity, such as when a patient attempts to leave their bed, the presence of food in a pre-surgery environment, or conversations between staff and patients.
It only responds when required, either by acting directly or through observation. The agent can be engaged by the staff to monitor patients.

LookDeep co-founder and chief executive Narinder Singh added: “In hospitals, the moments that matter most can’t be scheduled or scripted. We built aimee to be ready for them — able to see, hear, and respond in real time.
“The pace of AI in Silicon Valley dwarfs every previous technology paradigm and shapes every aspect of what aimee can do. We keep up so hospitals can focus on care — and aimee brings that same vigilance and drive to every patient, and every team that cares for them.”
aimee is available in more than 50 languages, and Nexus Bedside is its joint development partner. The agent incorporates training modules for fields including neurosciences, orthopaedics and oncology care.
