WellSky and uMed have entered a strategic partnership aimed at increasing participation in national clinical research registries by allowing patients to take part in studies from their homes.
The collaboration brings together WellSky’s network of more than 10,000 home-based care organisations and uMed’s automated registry platform.

This approach is intended for creating a scalable model to gather real-world clinical data from patients, including those in rural, underserved, and older populations, without interrupting their usual care routines.
By integrating the WellSky provider network with the uMed ACCESS Cohorts platform, the initiative will allow patients to remotely enrol in national research registries.
These registries focus on gathering evidence about patient experiences, treatment preferences, and usability of medicines across various therapeutic areas such as Parkinson’s disease, autoimmune disorders, and cardiometabolic conditions.
Providers involved in the initiative can improve their reporting quality and benchmark their performance against national standards.

The model is intended to support scientific research, strengthen operational practices, and improve care standards.
The collaboration will initially focus on cardiometabolic and Parkinson’s cohorts in 2026, with plans to include more therapeutic areas in the future.
WellSky CEO and chairman Bill Miller said: “Access to participate in clinical research has historically been limited for many patients, particularly those not connected to major academic medical centres.
“By integrating WellSky’s expansive provider network with uMed’s turnkey registry infrastructure, we are establishing a new framework for inclusive, patient-centred research that meets individuals where they are.”
