StimLabs has commercially launched DermaForm, an FDA 510(k)-cleared porcine collagen scaffold, for the management of acute and chronic wounds across the US.
Swiss medical manufacturer Geistlich developed the particulate device, which StimLabs is distributing on an exclusive basis through the companies’ ongoing commercial partnership.

The scaffold provides a structure to support tissue healing and protects wounds when primary closure cannot take place.
Designed for large and complex injuries in hospital environments, the particulate device can fill tissue voids and cover broad surface areas.
Healthcare professionals can apply the material straight from the vial, either in a dry state or rehydrated into a mouldable consistency depending on the volume of fluid introduced.
Furthermore, the collagen matrix features pores sized to facilitate cell infiltration, maintains biocompatibility with low immunogenicity, and naturally resorbs into the wound bed over time.
StimLabs founder and CEO John Daniel said: “There is a significant unmet need in the management of large, complex and hard-to-heal wounds, and DermaForm was purpose-built to address it.
“Its unique porcine source, collagen scaffold architecture, and versatile particulate format give clinicians a new solution for their wound care needs. We are proud to bring this innovation to patients across the country.”
Geistlich regenerative technologies vice-president David Wemans said: “DermaForm is the result of Geistlich’s deep scientific expertise in collagen engineering applied specifically to the unmet needs of complex wound management.
“The product is a combination of deliberate design choices aimed at providing clinicians with a unique product that solves a clinical unmet need.”
StimLabs concentrates on developing regenerative medical treatments for wound management and surgical use.
Geistlich is a family-owned business that specialises in regenerative dentistry and wider regenerative medicine.
Earlier this year, StimLabs announced the launch of Allacor P, a human umbilical cord device designed for acute and chronic wound management.
